The Tulip for the trip were distributed out. Set off at about 0615h, after a short briefing.
Route taken: Tuas - 2nd link - Machap (Pit stop for R & R, Total distance: 100km)
Convoy to a place to eat durian before we set of to Mexica Restaurant for Chinese lunch.
After lunch we suppose to head for the waterfall, but it was raining heavily so the trip was cancelled and we head straight to the hotel - Swiss Garden Resort & Spa.
Most of us were disappointed for unable to go to the waterfall. However Road Venture promise us to bring us there tomorrow after lunch.
After checking into the hotel. it was R&R. Dinner at own cost. Road Venture brought Pro-Import staff to a nearby eatery named Planet Seafood for dinner. Food there was good, but waiting time quite long, cos' it was packed with people. The staff there are mostly women.
After dinner, we chill out at the hotel's pub called Malibu, with live band thoughout the night.
Day 2
Complimentary buffet breakfast at hotel, Garden Terrace.
After breakfast, we suppose to go to the Turtle Sanctuary. However that day was a Public Holiday (Ah Gong's Birthday) and the place is run by the government, so we were unable to visit that place.
Along the way, we convoy to Cherating Village where there's a beautiful seaside and some batik shopping.
In the village, we also get to know more about the traditional Meankuang weaving, where the people uses leafs from coconut trees to hand-make products like bags, carrier, purse, sling bags or even mats.
We also get to see the traditional top-spinning and how they train the monkey to pluck coconuts. The monkey was well-trained, cos' it only pluck the big ones and the coconuts are very sweet.
Then we head to Chukai town for a 6-course Halal seafood lunch. The speciality there is the stuff crabs. Other food there were not bad too.
After lunch, we were brought to a place where its famous for its coffee. The place was very crowded and we queued for quite some time for the coffee and the boxes of instant coffee.
Fortunately for us, the weather was good, so we were able to proceed to Sg Pandan Waterfall where we missed it the day before. It's a famous waterfall with very nice scenery and very clean and fresh water, crowded with people.
After about 1 hr 30mins of fun there, we head to somewhere nearby for some coffee and snacks before heading back to hotel.
For dinner, we had Seafood BBQ Buffet at the Garden Terrace. Lucky draw was held there. The top prize is a Hanman 4.3" GPS, the 2nd prize is a Paint Protection Voucher from Autosaver.
Day 3
After checking out at about 1130H, we proceed to Pak Su Seafood Restaurant for lunch.
Then we went for some local product shopping. Kuantan is famous for its Salted Fish & Ikan Bilis.
After the shopping we convoy back to Singapore.
